BA in French (French)
universite de dijon (Graduate Coursework)
9 years Embassy of France, 24 yrs Agence France-Presse (Other)
My passion for the French language began when I was thirteen, and has only deepened over the years. I worked for the Embassy of France and for Agence France-Presse, the French news agency -the world's oldest international news agency. Both of my jobs enabled me to live each day among extremely interesting French people.
During my tenure at the Embassy of France, I was in charge of scientific exchange program, to further the cooperation between French and American scientists, and which gave me many opportunities to do simultaneous interpretation at scientific meetings.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in French, and thirty years of experience working with the language. I am fluent in spoken and written French, and confident that I can impart my knowledge and enthusiasm for the language to others who wish to become proficient in this beautiful, challenging language.
I would be happy to answer any questions you have about my background and qualifications. It will be no problem for me to accommodate your scheduling needs. Feel free to contact me any time at all. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
