Baltimore School for the Arts (High School) (Classical Voice)
Hi! I'm an 18 year old high school senior at Baltimore School for the Arts. I've been training classically for the last 4 years, and prior to that I played the trombone for about 7 years. I started volunteering to assist freshmen in their vocal lessons as well as in Music Theory because I love helping students reach their full potential the same way BSA is helping me reach mine!
I specialize in classical voice, and because of my training, I am able to sing/teach any other genre requested. My main goals as a teacher are to help the students understand basic musical knowledge, (Major/Minor Scale, Ear training, Vocal Warm-ups, etc) and nurture their talent. I want to help build my students' passion for music and give them a better understanding of how to use the voice correctly.
Since I'm younger, I feel that I will better connect with my students. It definitely makes it easier for me to have vocal lessons because my teacher is only 5 years older than I am. I want my students and their parents to feel comfortable with me because the relationship between a vocal coach and her students needs to be one built on trust.
At the student/parent's request, I can provide periodic progress reports and inform the parents about what the student learns in each lesson. I can also provide a repertoire for the student to learn at his/her request.
I do not currently have a private studio, but I can use the practice rooms at my school in downtown Baltimore, or I can travel to another location if that is more convenient for the student. I try my best to be flexible with my hours. I have a 24-hour cancellation policy, but I do offer makeup lessons.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your studies! Hi! I'm an 18 year old high school senior at Baltimore School for the Arts. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have relative pitch, meaning that I have the ability to find any key from a certain key. I've been trained in sight singing, and ear training through call and response exercises, and solfege. I know several scales that are unheard of unless one has been classically trained.
I am proficient in music theory and am able to read a piece of music using solfege. I've been studying music theory for 4 years.
I am a singer/songwriter and poet. I can provide insight on how to build a concept for a song, and how to go about actually beginning and following through on said concept. I can help develop melodies, and powerful positive messages as well.
I have been singing since age 3, and have been classically trained for 4 years. I can sing any genre and am excellent at what I do as well as passionate about it. I have teaching experience, performing experience, and am always learning because I still take vocal lessons.
