About Andrew

My undergraduate degree was in Social Science, 75 hours of history, political science, sociology, economics, psychology and geography. I also studied Secondary Education.

I can speak German, and took 33 hours in the language. My father was in the army, and I went to a German kindergarten, speaking both English and German. I also studied it in undergraduate.

I started graduate school as an Elementary Education major, but when I found out my son was on the autistic spectrum, I went into Special Education. I taught students with behavioral and/or emotional disorders for ten years. And I taught philosophy to adjudicated youth. My first mentor in undergraduate studies was an advocate for the homeless.

I started reading when I was three years old. I am an excellent writer and editor. I understand different learners require different methods of teaching. I am tireless in my pursuit of learning, and I will make you excited about once boring subjects.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
