I am a highly motivated, creative, and hard working teacher who is also very passionate about teaching. In my twenty years of teaching, I have taught piano and music theory; as well as SAT subjects to hundreds of students ranging from age 3 to 83 (for music). During this time I have prepared my music students who have successfully sat and passed several examinations, both in piano and theory; while tutoring middle and high school students for the Critical Reading, Essay and Grammar tests for their SAT. In my approach to teaching I make the room for versatility, in that while I like to use a certain method; I will make any adjustments that are needed to help my students reach their goals.
I have a keen interest in creative writing, writing articles, poetry and short stories. I like to write about our prodigious brain, memory, education, parenting and family; since these issues are congruent to my protocol.
But my interest extend beyond these to include a love for all of the things in nature like the flowers, plants, trees, mountains, rivers, lakes, oceans, waterfalls, the sun, the moon, the stars, the rain, the snow, the glaciers, etc.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I worked as a classroom teacher after completing my teaching practicum in the nineties. During this time I instructed all academic subject areas to classrooms of up to 28 students for kindergarten, grades 1 to 6; and high school English, math (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry), and human biology.
I have also developed some innovative approaches that were repeatedly held up as the model standard for meeting the school district goals in areas across the curriculum, and for literacy and diversity.
I began my Music Education at 6. At age 7, I sat and passed the Royal Schools of Music Piano Exam Grade 1. I continued to sit these exams until I passed the final grade; piano 8. As an adult, I pursued my degrees in music, earning a B.M.ED in piano and a M Mus in piano pedagogy. For the past twenty-five years, I have been using my skills and passion to teach music in the following areas: Piano, Violin, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone and Music Theory). During this time, I've prepared my music students to successfully sit and pass several examinations both in piano, and music theory.
I am an avid reader and teacher with a reading list that covers most of the standard literature of the Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary periods. Some of the favorite novels I read and reviewed during my college years are: Emma; Jane Eyre; The Canterbury Tales; Great Expectations; Oliver Twist; The Return of The Native; The Sand Castle; Lark rise to Candle-ford; Lady Chatterley's Lover; and Uncle Tom's Cabin, to name just a few.
For the elementary and middle schools level my list includes most of the Children favorites: Moby Dick, The Liberation Of Gabriel King, Huckleberry Finn, Tom Sawyer, Animal Farm, Gone With the Wind, The Blacker the Berry, and The Tell Tale Heart, among others. Not only have I read extensively, but I'm also an internet blogger and writer of several internet articles. I like to write about our prodigious brain, our memory, parenting, Teaching the Young Mind - topics that congruent to my protocol.
