About Matthew

I am a Yale graduate with extensive experience tutoring at middle school, high school and college levels. I particularly enjoy teaching calculus and statistics. Right now, I have space in my schedule for one more regular student on weekends, so I'm looking for someone to help out!

I have also worked as a camp counselor, supervising and instructing children ages 8 through 17. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Yale where I took classes in Government, French, Math, History, Psychology, and Physics. I got a 2280 on the SAT (800 verbal, 750 math, 730 writing) and received 5's on AP French, Calculus, and Psychology as well as 7's (out of a possible 7) in IB (International Baccalaureate) History, Chemistry, Psychology, and Higher Level Math (and remember what the tests were like and which parts were particularly challenging to me and other students).

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Good at his job

He taught me rotational solids in a way that made it click for me and we went over rimman sums. He was smart helpful and professional. I was really happy to work with him
