I am highly qualified to tutor students in discrete math because I not only hold a Ph.D. in mathematics (Clemson University, 1999), but also because my area of mathematical research was in a branch of discrete mathematics. I have taught and tutored mathematics at the college level for the past twenty years. This experience includes both teaching discrete math courses and tutoring discrete math students.

I am highly qualified to tutor students in English for the following reasons.

(1) In one of my roles a university professor, I served with distinction as an assistant editor for an international journal which focuses on the history and mathematics of cryptology.

(2) I earned the CELTA English-teaching certificate, awarded by the University of Cambridge, in May 2011. I earned a grade of Pass B in my CELTA training, which puts me among the top quarter of CELTA trainees worldwide.

(3) I taught English to both professionals and high-school students at a language school in Cuenca, Ecuador. Also, I both taught and mentored teachers at a high school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; my duties included both serving as an expert in the English language, and being on call to teach English whenever needed.

I am qualified to help students learn English as a second language for the following reasons:

(1) I hold the world's most prestigious English-teaching certificate, the CELTA, which is awarded by the University of Cambridge. I completed the training for this certificate in May 2011.
