About Rosa

I have taught seven levels of Spanish in public high schools, tutored Communications at the college level, privately tutored elementary and middle school math, history and reading and taught both children and adults how to sail and kayak. I have a degree in Spanish Language, Literature, Business and Culture with a double major in Art History. I am enthusiastic and interested in many different subjects and my goal as a tutor is to share excitement for learning and to help my students reach their own personal goals.

I am certified to teach both Spanish and ESOL (English to speakers of other languages) for pre-K to grade 12. I write my own lessons and develop curriculum to suit the needs of my students. It is important to me that world language students have exposure and practice listening, reading, writing and speaking the language to fully develop their communication skills. I am prepared to help students and adult learners with vocabulary, grammar structures, written work as well as converse in the language to advance interpersonal skills. I am also happy to share music, art, photos, history, customs, folk stories and authentic literature because I believe culture is essential to the understanding and enjoyment of any language.
