I'm an ESOL teacher. I just graduated with my masters degree in ESOL education from the University of Maryland, College Park. I'm certified to teach language learners from PreK-12th grade. I love working with students and have a true passion for helping others reach their educational goals.
In addition to teaching language learners, I have experience working with students in the elementary school setting. I have been a volunteer and substitute teacher for Montgomery County, Maryland for 3 years. I enjoy working in small groups and with individuals to help improve their academic skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. I'm a very creative individual and do my best to make engaging lessons that are both stimulating and thoughtful.
I have been a student teacher for both elementary and high school while completing my masters degree. During those two internships, I have worked closely with language learners of varying English proficiencies. While working with these students, I expanded their vocabulary and reading comprehension skills.
For the past four years, I have been working with elementary school students in a variety of ways. I not only have experience helping young learners with the basics such as reading and writing, but I help my students better understand content material.
I truly love teaching and working with all kinds of students. Please don't hesitate to contact me. I'm an ESOL teacher. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
