“**Great experience!**”

Hi,

My name is Mark. I am a teacher of Mathematics and Physics and a recently retired Earth Scientist from the NASA - Goddard Space Flight Center. I have BS and PhD degrees in Mathematics from MIT and Cornell. I

I can't express enough praise for Dr. H! A true expert in his field, very passionate about his subject as well as warm and patient person. He has an amazing ability to explain the most difficult concepts and make it very accessible. My son has a great admiration and respect for Dr. H. After only a couple tutoring sessions with Dr. H I noticed a big improvement in my sons grades. Now he aces every test. Dr. H is a very inspiring and motivating teacher, I see a drastic improvement in my son's working habits in general.

After my first meeting with Mr. H I felt comfortable. I was comfortable doing math in front of a tutor and I felt comfortable Mr. H was extremely knowledgeable. I look forward to working with Mr. H and would highly recommend him for other students.

Dr Mark is very knowledgeable tutor. he is very motivating. but unfortunately because of our schedule obligation we couldn't use him.

Mark tutored my son in Calculus for a quarter. Only wish I had found him sooner. Very easy to interact with as a parent and student. Always encouraging of my son and gave him the confidence to do well and improve his grade. Extremely reliable in terms of promptness and preparation. Flexible when we asked him to be. You'll be happy if you give Mark a whirl. We recommend him highly.

Mark has been tutoring my son in Calculus and Physics II. He is very patient and inspiring. Mark has been able to focus on my son's strengths and opportunities for improvement and encourage him to improve in the areas that need help. My son, an 11th grader, is much more confident about math and science and always welcomes his time with Mark.

Mark has encouraged my so much that he actually spent several hours on extra credit physics problems and then helped a 12th grader with her homework. He did all of this with a smile on his face.

I highly recommend Mark.

Mark has years of experience in the Physics and Math fields. He makes formulas very understandable. My daughter was able to recall formulas that she learned three years ago with Marks help. Thanks Mark I know with your help she will do well on her SAT subject exams.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have a PhD in Applied Mathematics and over 30 years of professional experience in applying it. I scored a 790 on my SAT Math test. I have received examination preparation training from Kaplan.

I have over 30 years' experience as a NASA Scientist. I have received examination preparation training from Kaplan.

I have studied Algebra as an undergraduate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and I have actively used it in my work at NASA in the mathematical modeling of the Earth's Land/Ocean/Atmosphere System.

I have studied Algebra as an undergraduate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and I have actively used it in my work at NASA in the mathematical modeling of the Earth's Land/Ocean/Atmosphere System.

I have studied Astronomy as an undergraduate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and I am currently involved, through the American Geophysical Union, in a project to study the properties and characteristics of the Earth-like exoplanet, Gliese 581-d.

I am an experienced ASVAB tutor who has recently helped my student to successfully join the Navy by helping him to increase his ASVAB score from a 38th percentile ranking to a 52th percentile ranking.

I have studied Calculus as an undergraduate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and I have actively used it as a PhD student at Cornell University and in my work at NASA in the mathematical modeling of the Earth's Land/Ocean/Atmosphere System.

I studied and taught Partial Differential Equations as part of my graduate work at Cornell University. My PhD thesis was on the derivation and solution of partial differential equations using the multi-scale methodology.

I have studied several of the elements of Discrete Mathematics both as an undergraduate at MIT and as a PhD student at Cornell University, and I have actively used them in my work at the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center in the mathematical modeling of the Earth's Land/Ocean/Atmosphere System. I have taught Finite Math, a close cousin to Discrete Math, twice at the undergraduate level.

I have vast experience at NASA in climate simulation modeling, climate variability studies, and climate change. I have also done development work at NASA in the global modeling of atmospheric pollution and chemistry.

I have BS and PhD degrees in mathetmatics.

I have over 30 years experience as a NASA scientist.

I have a taught an undergraduate course in Finite Mathematics at Marymount University in Arlington Virginia. I am already qualified in, and have over 20 hours of tutoring experience in the related and much more difficult discipline of Discrete Mathematics. I am also qualified and experienced in the tutoring and practice of the following component disciplines of Finite Mathematics--Algebra, Linear Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Probability, and Statistics.

I have over fifty years of programming experience in Fortran, Fortran 77 and Fortran 90. I learned Fortran as an undergraduate at MIT, and have used it there, as a graduate student at Cornell University, and as a scientist and Senior Programer at MIT, at New York University, at the NASA/Goddard Institute for Space Studies, and at the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center. I have over 20 hours experience in tutoring Computer Science students at the University of Maryland.

I have actively used Geometry in my work at the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center in the mathematical modeling of the Earth's Land/Ocean/Atmosphere System.

I have studied Linear Algebra as an undergraduate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and I have actively used it in my work at NASA in the mathematical modeling of the Earth's Land/Ocean/Atmosphere System.

I have studied several aspects of logic both as an undergraduate at MIT and as a PhD student at Cornell University, and I have actively used them in my work at the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center in the mathematical modeling of the Earth's Land/Ocean/Atmosphere System.

I have been a student of music theory and composition and have composed several shorter musical works.

I have more than 30 years experience at the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center in studying and modeling the physics of the Earth's Atmosphere/Land/Ocean System.

I taught Pre-Calculus, which included some Pre-Algebra, at the Undergraduate level at the State University of New York at Purchase.

I taught Pre-Calculus at the Undergraduate level at the State University of New York at Purchase.

I have studied probability as an undergraduate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and have applied and developed skewed and unskewed bi-Gaussian probability distributions at the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center to describe the moist processes that occur in the turbulent atmospheric boundary layer.

I have been a peer reviewer for scientific journals, an editor for scientific and popular manuscripts published by my office at NASA and a freelance editor for scientific and technical publications.

I scored a 790 on my SAT Math test. I have received examination preparation training from Kaplan.

I have a PhD in Applied Mathematics and have used statistics extensively in my research as an Earth Scientist at the NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center. I have computed and/or evaluated anomaly correlations to verify numerical weather predictions and to diagnose relationships between physical observations and possible causes. I have used statistical tools such as the Student test and Principal Components Analysis to better understand physical phenomena. I am also very experienced in applying statistical techniques and reasoning to simulate and understand atmospheric turbulence and dispersion.
