I have over 13 years of experience as a scientist. I am a mother of 3 kids: one is a recent graduate from University of Maryland, College Park campus, he has been in deans list for the past 2 years. Graduated from High school with high GPA. He was in honor roll from 6th grade to 12th grade, received African American Academic Achievement awards for all semesters in middle school to high school, recipient of The National Society of High School Scholars and recipient of STAR foundation Certificate of Merit.
I'm an experienced tutor of all levels (elementary school, middle school, high school and college level) for years at my house with my kids, nieces and nephews. I love teaching and I believe in practice and challenging yourself.
My tutoring style is quite different. I like to see my students learn and understand the topic in discussion. I use different exercise books with examples and problems with answers to make sure that they understand the main concept and ideas. I make it fun and I believe you will not regret my service. We are very satisfied with Asha's services. She took my son from a child who was scared of Math to a math-loving student who wants to learn more and more. I am very happy and would recommend her to anyone who needs help.
Asha is an excellent instructor who demonstrates great patience and skill in teaching mathematics to students in multiple grade levels in our church. All of our students enjoy her tutoring style and look forward to attending their tutorial workshops. Thanks Asha, keep up the good work.
Asha is a very pleasant person and knows math very well. She was quite responsive by email, but was consistently late to sessions.
Thanks for your feedback. I take all feedback from my students very seriously. I am honestly disappointed for you to say that I was "Consistently late", after the fact that I always communicate with you if i will be couple of minutes late. I am a full time scientist and a mother of three kids aged 18, 6 and 2, I work in a very flexible schedule with most of my students, couple of minutes late once or twice has never been an issue in the same way when my students do not turn their homework given to them and do not turn them on timely manner (1 0r 2 days late). Because i know they have busy schedules or involved in other activities and accommodate all this while its a stressful for me to mark 2 or 3 assignments in one night and that was why i asked all my students to submit their homework daily. If I was patient with you in many ways i think it would have been fair for you to give a fair feedback. My goal is to make my sessions very flexible and make sure my students understand what i teach them and I am very patient with my students and work around their schedules.
It was nice working with you and I believe I have made positive impact on my student SAT scores.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
