Hirosaki University (Master's)
Dear prospective students, I am a dedicated and hard working professional Japanese tutor to English speakers, math and English tutor to Japanese. I am also patient to adjust my tutoring to each student's level.
I am a native Japanese speaker. I also speak, read, and write English fluently. My TOEIC score is 795, which I scored in 2007. My English level has improved a lot since then. I live in Gaithersburg, MD, and I work in DC on weekdays. I moved here from Japan about seven years ago.
I have taught Japanese to native English speakers from the first grade students to 60's adults since I moved to the States. I had also taught five subjects to elementary/middle school students for more than 10 years: Japanese, English, math, science, and history when I lived in Japan. I had also taught two subjects to high school students: math and English. In addition, I can teach Japanese culture. I like tutoring at a personal level and adjusting myself to the students' desires and levels. I would love to share achievement with students. I also earned a bachelor of economics at Hirosaki University in Japan and studied English in Australia.
Regarding my tutoring rate, of course negotiable! I am looking forward to hearing for your inquiry.

Sachiho assisted me in prepping for an expanded kanji repertoire and though I will definitely need some serious practice, I feel that her patience and good humor were a great basis for learning.
Sachiho is a wonderful tutor! I needed a few lessons to brush up on my Japanese before traveling there. She helped me pick out books for my level and was able to quickly get my comprehension and speaking skills on track. She was always on time and responded quickly via text/email. I highly recommend her!
Sachiho is a patient and professional utter. She listens to my questions very carefully and responses them accurately. I really appreciate her tutoring method. Thank you so much.
Sachiho is not just a tutor, she is a teacher. She understands our son's shyness and thinks about how to engage him. She is focused on what he needs and is moving him to a higher level of Japanese understanding in order to increase his confidence. He looks forward to his lessons each week.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
