I'm a life long teacher and have enjoyed helping students reach and maintain their goals. I have worked with gifted students to students whom struggle with academic basics. In terms of written language I have a gift for editing with revision and enjoy working on writing topics with students using research based techniques. One of my accomplishments was to teach a 13 year old struggling emerging reader to read. I have often had the desire to start a reading clinic for students.
I have also a great deal of experience in helping students achieve success with basic grammar, spelling and vocabulary from Elementary students to high school.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have worked with students with ADD/ADHD for approximately 20 years and have a great deal of strategies to help students with attention problems complete tasks and learn. I was a master teacher on a treatment team at a learning institution in Maryland for students with disabilities. I continue to work as an author for an online data course as a curriculum author for special needs students. It is my lifelong passion to help strengthen my community through education.
I have worked in an educational setting for almost 20 years as an educator for students with special needs. Most of the classroom experience is working with elementary-level students with specific needs. My strength is teaching students to read and write. I have taught at some of the most distinguished institutions in Maryland. I continue to remain involved while I work as a special education author for a National Database corporation.
I've created several lessons on organizing time and assignments. I taught a class on study skills for multiple years for students with learning difficulties. I've created a simple scheduling method that allows for busy individuals to create study time and how to study important information relating to class assessments. I am also able to assess and identify what type of learner an individual is and how they best process information.
