I am a 28 year old senior clinical researcher at a vaccine development company in Gaithersburg. I previously worked for the US Army developing immunodiagnostic assays to support population-level serosurveillance in West Africa. I started teaching and tutoring when I was an undergraduate at Maryland. I tutored for biology and math courses at University of Maryland, as well as teaching BSCI223: Introduction to Microbiology lab sections for the better part of two years.

I currently tutor and edit papers for students from across the country on an as-needed basis, but I am looking to find more consistent tutoring opportunities on Wyzant to supplement my income while my wife returns to school for her undergraduate degree. I enjoy tutoring because it gives me an opportunity to help students learn and to influence the educational development of another person, which I have always found to be a really rewarding experience.

I have tutored several students through intensive Algebra 1/2 combined classes at Frederick Community College to a great degree of success, with all students achieving an A or B+ in the class.

I have 10 years as a biology researcher in the field, two years teaching Microbiology labs at University of Maryland and several years of part-time biology tutoring for students through online coordination over Skype/Facebook. I have worked for four different major companies or organizations in the biotechnology sphere with a focus on virology, immunodiagnostics and vaccine development

I had an SAT Verbal score of 790/800 and spent several years after graduation writing and editing professionally part-time for a number of popular online comedy and news websites.

I achieved a 5 on the AP World History exam and spent several semesters at Maryland further advancing my knowledge through elective class choices. I enjoy talking about history and global politics as well as reading a great deal about world history and affairs. My primary interests are focused on European and South American history from the mid 1700s through the modern era.

If you think you would be interested in contacting me for tutoring, feel free to reach out. I am very knowledgeable about a lot of subjects across the spectrum of coursework most people will encounter in their academic careers. I have tutored in everything from Microbiology to Art History and have always managed to help my students achieve better grades and more complete understanding of the material. I also try to make the process as much fun as possible, because I know learning complex topics can be intimidating for people.

Anyone can learn anything, it's just a matter of providing the right tools and resources to facilitate that learning.
