I graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland magna cum laude with degrees in Biology and Biochemistry, which has given me a broad and accurate grasp of multiple scientific fields. While in college, I was a teaching assistant for General Chemistry, teaching a weekly review session including an activity and guided problem sets. I also served as a lab assistant for General Chemistry and Biochemistry I and II, helping students comprehend concepts and apply their knowledge to experiments. As a Biology teaching assistant for a Johns Hopkins Center For Talented Youth program, I worked with talented middle and high school students to present concepts in an engaging manner, to lead laboratory experiments, and to tutor individual students on areas needing improvement. Furthermore, I use my background in Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, and Chemistry daily in my coursework and my work in the lab as a PhD student.

Patient and relable tutor

Clarissa was very patient with me while I learned. She would assist me without giving me the answers and also gave useful tips for memorization. She was able to visually show me the concepts which helped a lot for me. She was on time everyday and very good with communication. Great Tutor!
