Great tutor. Has lots of patience, knowledge, and enthusiasm to teach. He has prepared me for the Chinese AP. I appreciate all he has done to help me. I highly recommend him as a tutor.
We almost immediately moved into tutoring based on the textbook I already had. He had a number of textbooks on hand and presented a point at which he thought I would move beyond the need for his tutoring.
Very professional. We went over the structure of the class and how we will proceed. Then we spent a lot of time going over pronunciation. A very engaging teacher. Does a great job of explaining rationale for why I am learning what I am learning. Also, provides very entertaining historical and cultural explanations for the characters and words. An excellent and highly skilled teacher.
He always reviews the topics I learned in the previous class in the beginning of the class so that I can remember those and can get familiar with those words and expressions.
He gave examples for words meaning that made me understand the words easily.
My son loves learning Chinese but is on the verge of failing in his class at school. Mr. Man is helping him with his homework and teaching him other stuff. I believe he will catch up to his class and move beyond them.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
