About Tiffany

Hello! I have always loved learning new things and the challenge of applying what I have learned to certain situations. My love for teaching became clear in college when I tutored middle and high school students. My passion for teaching was revealed to me when I served as a preceptor to graduate nurses or nurses new to my area of practice. I have been a nurse for 10 years and I am certified in several areas of nursing. I am truly blessed to have nursing as my calling.
Teaching someone a skill or a concept that will help them succeed in life or succeed in helping others is the ultimate reward.

I specialize in life sciences: biology, microbiology, anatomy, physiology, nursing, and pharmacology. I have always loved science and learning how things, particularly the body, work. I also specialize in English/grammar as well.

Everyone has a learning style that best works for them, so it is my mission to establish your learning style(s) first. This is important because a large part of your understanding of the material is dependent on this. It is important to me that you understand and can reproduce and retain the information that you need to learn for class. Therefore, your feedback, performance, and satisfaction are key items that I use to evaluate myself.

I try to be as flexible as possible with my schedule, but I do require a 24-hour cancellation notice. Make-up sessions are available, but will be based on availability.

Please feel free to email me for tutuoring or with an questions you may have. I look forward to speaking with you and helping you achieve your goals and beyond.

Teaching is more than imparting knowledge; it is inspiring change.
Learning is more than absorbing facts; it is acquiring understanding.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Pharmacology

I have worked as a registered nurse for 10 years. In this time, I have been responsible for mixing/preparing and administering drugs. Some of these medications are high alert and must be double checked and administered with caution. With every administration, I must also be aware of the desired and possible side effects, duration and peak of effectiveness, and interactions with other drugs a patient may be receiving.
