About Daniel

Hi.

I understand your needs. I meet privately with students when they wish to address learning issues and personal problems that get in the way of their studies and reduce their grades.

I am primarily a college instructor teaching writing and business. This naturally includes working on reading comprehension skills as a byproduct.

Many of my students come without strong basic skills in writing, often because they were educated in high schools in other countries. I am familiar with every type of writing problem. Any student can improve by applying effective writing strategies, which I teach.

Students must be motivated to have a desire to learn more. I solve learning problems and inspire students to succeed and get better grades!

I am sure I can motivate your child to enjoy improving his or her skills. Kids like me because I am serious, but I can be lighthearted to mix things up. (I have raised my own two children as an involved father.)

I have done some secondary school substitute teaching, for which I am certified in Montgomery County (MCPS), having passed a security background check, which includes fingerprinting. I have done some private tutoring, including with ESL students.

I work with my hands, often doing bicycle refurbishing, fine art painting, and furniture refinishing.

I look forward to speaking with you and your child. Thank you for your consideration!

Please let me know how you want to proceed.

Sincerely, Dan, MBA, JD

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
