Bio

My name is Brandon, and my job will be to give the most learning-effective and enjoyable tutoring experience possible. As a recent graduate with an M.A. in Biblical Studies aspiring to scholarship, I am competent in the subjects I have available here, and I love the subject material. I love going through the learning process myself, and I will do my best to inspire enthusiasm in my clients.

I learned both Biblical Greek and Hebrew on my own so that I was able to test into level 3 for both when I entered graduate school. I then took both levels 3 and 4, learning to read the Bible in its original languages. I also took Latin while an undergraduate at the University of Maryland. I have already mentored others in all three languages.

My Master of Arts is in Biblical Studies, so I have learned to read the Bible on the graduate level. I have also learned how to turn myself from a bad writer to a good one, especially when I learned to argue well. I can teach others to do the same.

Learning from me will be stimulating, fun, and informative.

Greek,

Greek

Other than English, Biblical Greek is my best language. I learned the introductory and intermediate levels on my own so that I was able to test into Greek 3 when I entered graduate school. After completing Greek 3 and 4, I learned to read the New Testament in its original languages with vocabulary, grammar, and syntax, and I have since been learning to read Classical Greek and Septuagint Greek. For the last year, I have been reading the New Testament in Greek as much as possible, relying on English as little as possible. I have had positive experience mentoring others in Greek.
Hebrew,

Hebrew

I learned the introductory and intermediate levels on my own so that I was able to test into Hebrew 3 when I entered graduate school. After completing Hebrew 3 and 4, I learned to read the Hebrew Bible in Hebrew, understanding vocabulary, grammar, and syntax. For the last year, I have been reading the Tanakh in Hebrew as much as possible, relying on English as little as possible. I have had positive experience mentoring others in Hebrew.
Latin

Latin

I took Latin in both high school and college, and I have tutored in Latin more than in any other subject.

Writing

While I was a bad writer in high school, I learned to be a good one in college, especially when I learned to argue well. I was able to write well in graduate school, where I learned to research and write on a scholarly level. My best form of writing is persuasive, followed by informative.

History

Bible Studies

Bible Studies

I was trained in the academic rigor of Westminster Seminary California, which taught us how to read the Bible as a whole, within each individual book, and broken down to individual passages. We learned to read and study passages in their original languages, as we were only allowed to take Bible classes after we completed our language courses. Our professors taught us to engage with scholarship of the highest level in academic research for our papers and exams. In short, our education trained us in the rigors of biblical interpretation so that we could learn to read the Bible for all its worth.
