About Brock

As an undergraduate, I was fortunate enough to begin tutoring students both in biological sciences and academic success. I worked with students who were considered "At Risk" by the university to help them develop effective learning habitats, such as note taking, studying, and stress management. As for the biological sciences tutoring, I helped students ranging from general biology to upper level biology course, such as herpetology, mammalogy, and ecology.

Currently, I am a PhD student working on amphibian disease at the University of Maryland-College Park. I have been able to continue my tutoring career at the university by becoming a teaching assistant for anatomy and physiology. This experience has been thoroughly enjoyable because it has helped me to expand my knowledge of science and taught me new ways to present material to students to help them better understand.

Aside from my tutoring career, I have conducted research since my freshman year of undergraduate schooling. With this research, I was fortunate enough to present it at many different conferences. The pinnacle being an international conference called the ESA Meeting. This research has also allowed me to work closely with professors in the writing of a scientific article that will be submitted for publishing. I write about these achievements because I feel that they have provided me with a well-rounded experience in science and would help to better provide learning experiences to students.

I feel that my past tutoring and research experience have provided me with a knowledge of both academic and hands-on learning methods that will allow me to be find the best learning method for the students I tutor. I truly have a passion for science and look forward to helping students learn about it. Let's make science fun!

If have looked over my profile and feel as though I am the right tutor for you, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for considering as a potential tutor. Have a great day!

Helpful and encouraging tutor

Brock helped me understand what tone a sentence is in when going through examples of the verbal section. This has helped me a lot with my study already in one night.
