Salisbury University (Graduate Coursework)
My name is David. I have recently graduated (May 2012) from Salisbury University with honors with a degree in applied mathematics (3.774 GPA). During some of my spare time at SU, I have worked in our tutoring room to tutor other students who have needed help within their respective math courses. Also in general, I was always willing and able to help tutor my friends in their math, astronomy, and even music courses. I've worked in both 1 on 1 and in group sessions to help others and am happy with helping in either scenario.
During my time at Salisbury, I participated on the Men's Cross Country and Track & Field team for all four years running long distance events. I am still running nearly everyday training for any races that come my way. I've played the piano for about 13 years now, and it is one of my favorite hobbies. During the majority of my summers I have worked at an overnight camp called Camp Airy, with the 11-13 year old range of campers. Before college, I worked at my local Hebrew school and aided the first grade class for 5 years. I also organized and ran an after-school program for 7-10 year olds, so I am great with kids too.
Overall, I enjoy helping others and have always received positive remarks from peers that Ive helped in any subject. I look forward to tutoring you too! Hello!

David was on time and ready for our session. After a quick introduction and discussion about expectations and desired outcomes, he and my son got right to work. My son was very happy with David's understanding of the material and how he helped explain a few concepts he had been struggling with. How was the 1st hour? Excellent! We're already scheduling future sessions.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
