Leah helped me work through several problems on the data analysis section that I was having a lot of trouble with. She retaught me concepts in a very simple and easy way and when I didn't understand something at first, she explained it in a different way and guided me through the problem and was very patient with me when I didn't understand things. She also had me work and talk through the problems on my own rather than just tell me how to do them which helped me learn the concepts a lot better.

My daughter worked with Leah for 8 lessons before the Oct SAT. She is a high school senior and wanted to increase her math score.

Leah met with her one on one and worked with her twice a week for 4 weeks . Leah helped her understand new concepts and reviewed math concepts that she had trouble with . We are so happy with the results and are very grateful to Leah for her expertise and patience.

I highly recommend Leah for SAT math prep.

Leah is a wonderful tutor. She explains math in a way that makes it easy to learn. Thank you!

Leah is an amazing tutor! I asked her for help getting prepared for the GRE and she was beyond helpful. She is extremely patient and takes time to make sure that her students understand the content. She adapted her teaching style to my learning style which enabled me to understand concepts that I wasn't always able to fully grasp in the past. I am so appreciative of her help and I would recommend her tutoring to anyone!

My daughter was out sick for a week missing all her instruction. Leah was able to bring her up to date in AB Calculus AP in one session. My daughter now feels confident in taking her make up exam. Leah was a lifesaver.

Leah moved mountains! My daughter now enjoys calculus and I was very impressed with Leah’s method of teaching calculus. She answered all her questions, and reassured her. I appreciate the fact that she didn’t just give my daughter the answers to the problems she encountered, but she helped her understand the process of working out the solution. She is super patient and my daughter absolutely loves learning with Leah! So, thank you Leah for moving mountains!

Leah C. has been a great tutor for my son. Her teaching style resonates very well with him and he looks forward for tutoring with her. She has really made a huge difference in his grades in pre-calculus this year. She also worked with him on improving his organizing abilities. I look forward to having her tutor my son next year too. Thanks a lot, Leah!

Leah is an outstanding Tutor. She worked with my sons on SAT preparation. She helped them with test taking strategy, essay writing and math. I was so pleased with the result, I will be asking Leah to tutor the boys in Math Analysis/Trigonometry and Biology during the fall. I am certain that as Leah extends what is being taught in the classroom, they will be well prepared for College in 2014.

If you are looking for a mature, patient and experienced tutor then Leah is it! She not only spent countless hours helping my college age son but she also took the time to provide me (his mom) with feedback and recommendations on specific areas he needed to practice.

Leah listens well, and provides individualized, student-centered guidance. She is a teacher! In the first session Leah identified my specific learning needs, and then over a 4 week period provided just what I needed for a breakthrough. In just 4 weeks this approach raised my PSAT math score by 110 points, from 55th percentile to 85th percentile!

Thank you Hannah! I am enjoying working with you and am as excited as you are by your progress. Thank you for the privilege of being your tutor!

My daughter submitted an English paper for Leah to review and edit. The turnaround time was amazing, I was impressed with how quickly she returned the edited draft to us. Her edits were extremely helpful in preparing my daughter for her final draft.

I am so glad that my 14 year old son has Leah as a tutor. Great personality & friendly. Afterward, my son told me she was great and he had a better understanding. My son is excited about his Geometry class and is seeking an A!

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have 3 1/2 years experience teaching Algebra and Geometry at the high school level--the main components of the ACT Math test.

I have 3 1/2 years experience as an Algebra II teacher. While teaching Algebra II, I frequently worked to help with HSA remediation. In addition, I have tutored Algebra I on a number of occasions.

I have 3 1/2 years experience teaching Algebra II at the high school level as well as tutoring Algebra II. I have tutored Algebra II both in-person and online.

I have a strong interest in the life sciences and earned a minor in Biology from Loyola College.

I hold a minor in Biology from Loyola College (Now University) in MD. I also hold a BSES in Engineering from Loyola and have 3 + years experience as a high school math teacher. In addition, I have tutored statistics numerous times over the past 5 years.

I majored in Engineering in college, so Calculus was something I used on a daily basis for 4 years. Since college I have tutored both high school and college students in Calculus to keep my skills fresh. It is my favorite of the math classes to work with although it is certainly the most challenging (second to statistics) for students taking it!

I tutor younger students on a regular basis, especially in math/science. However, I spent a summer tutoring elementary english/reading, writing, and math with Sylvan Learning Centers and would be more than happy to tutor english and writing to this age group as well.

I am currently tutoring 3 students in elementary math (entering 4th - 7th grade). I enjoy working with this age group and would love to work with more younger students.

I have a passion for science and hold a minor in Biology from Loyola College (now University) in MD. When I became a teacher, I applied to be both a Biology and Math teacher. It was only due to the needs of the school system at that time that I became a high school math teacher.

I spent a summer tutoring with Sylvan Learning Centers (2009). I predominantly tutored English and Writing at that time. I know the "Sylvan way" to help students to improve their skills in this area and would be happy to provide quality instruction to your child.

I have 3 1/2 years experience teaching Geometry at the high school level (both standard and honors).

I hold an Advanced MD State Teacher Certification. I passed the Praxis on my first attempt and received an award for my performance on the math portion.

I have 3 1/2 years experience teaching Algebra II at the high school level. Over the last 5 years, I have tutored Pre-Algebra at least once a year.

I have 3+ years experience teaching Algebra II and Geometry on the high school level--the core content required on the SAT. In addition, I have prepared several students for the SAT, GRE, and Praxis over the last few years.

Statistics is one of my favorite subjects to tutor as well as my most frequently requested. I know that it can be a "foreign language" to many students--math is tricky to begin with and stats is different than any other math you will take. I am able to explain statistics in a way that weeds out the "math talk" and makes it simple to understand.

I have experience tutoring Study Skills with Sylvan Learning Center (Summer 2009). I mentored a young man (a foster child in a group home) for the past 6 years, working with him on organization and study skills. I also have 3 + years experience teaching high school, where I coached numerous students on study skills.

I just finished teaching/tutoring Pre-Calc to two wonderful GT students in Howard County. I would be more than happy to help you master it as well!
