Will has the excellent and rare ability to translate complex and rigorous academic theory for the introductory student in a manner that still retains the quality of the information, while making the content interesting.
Mr. Will G. helped my son prepare for AP biology test. We contacted him one week before exam (wish we started earlier). He was calm, patient, encouraging and very helpful in preparing for the test. Thanks.
Will is very patient and super clear in explaining difficult concepts. In addition he is a very nice person.
Had my son tutored by Will recently and the feedback and interaction was very positive. I would look to Will for further tutoring services and would recommend him to anyone else. This could have been a train wreck, but I believe Will put my son back on track. Thanks Will.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Biology to me is more than a collection of facts to be memorized. It is a passion. I have taught biology at UMBC and HCC for more than 10 years, specializing in topics ranging from general biology, anatomy and physiology, human heredity, and ecology and evolution. I do my best to help students understand the material, not simply attempt to memorize and regurgitate terms and definitions.
I have taken various styles of martial arts for more than 20 years. I have a strong background in Japanese martial arts (primarily Shotokan), as well as Korean styles (Tae Kwon Do), and even European fencing.
Will G. passed a background check on 10/16/12. The check was ordered by another user through First Advantage. For more information, please review the background check information page.
After sending a message to Will, you will be able to order a new background check for $7.99. As part of your tutor selection process, we encourage you to run updated background checks. Please also review the safety tips for hiring tutors.
