I am an adjunct professor of Mathematics at a local university where I teach 3 sections of Math and Statistics courses every academic year. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I worked as a student actuary for 3 major insurance companies in the 1980s. I have passed most of the quantitative actuarial examinations. I can submit documentation of my progress on actuarial examinations that is from the Society of Actuaries.
For the last 8 years, I have been an adjunct professor of Math and Statistics at a local university, where I have mostly taught graduate and undergraduate statistics courses. I am extremely well versed in statistical concepts and their application to all fields of endeavor. I also have extensive experience in one on one student instruction. I have a graduate degree in Statistics and I currently work full time as a Mathematical Statistician for a federal agency.
I have a Masters degree in Mathematics and a Masters degree in Statistics. I served as a Teaching Assistant while in Graduate School. Currently, I work part-time as an adjunct professor and I just finished teaching a course in Discrete Math.
I have graduate degrees in both Mathematics and Statistics. I served as a Teaching Assistant in graduate school. I work part time as an adjunct professor and I just finished teaching a course in Finite Math.
The Finite Math course I taught had topics in basic algebra and precalculus, finance (the mathematical theory of interest), logic and probability.
There are other plausible topics covered in a Finite Math course in which I am qualified. Linear programming and operations research are 2 of those topics, and I studied them successfully while I was working in the actuarial profession.
I have prepared taxes professionally (part-time) for the past 15 years. I have an IRS issued PTIN number, and I do coursework every year to remain eligible to prepare taxes for my employer. I plan to begin study to become certified as an IRS enrolled agent this summer. I have taught a course in income tax preparation for my employer in the recent past.
