University of Maryland, College Park (Biology)
Currently, I'm attending University of Maryland, College Park, double major in Biology and Nutritional Science pursuing to be a dentist.
I have lots of experience with tutoring, especially students attending primary and secondary schools. Currently, I am employed with a great tutoring program available for great range of students. Employees were required to either drive to the students or have lessons through Skype, both of which I am comfortable with. Through this job opportunity, I learned a great deal of effective tutoring methods. I use a variety of approach depending on the students need. Typically, I mix the use of workbooks and simple games to help students understand concepts.
Previously, I have worked as a Lifeguard and Assistant Swim Coach for three years, both of which required great deal of social interaction with patrons and students. These jobs taught the great importance of effective communication.
As far as academics go, I am a straight A student. Relevant college course work include: Microbiology, Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry 1, Calculus 1 and 2. I can tutor in these areas as well.
I have some experience in tutoring for SAT (scored 800 in Math) and ACT (scored 35/36 in Math), particularly math sections. I can provide some assistance for prep for AP exams (scored 4's and 5's on all Math and Science subjects).

Isaac helped my 9th-grader review for a geometry quiz. He was patient and explained concepts well, coaching him through problems without giving them away. Isaac came prepared and brought extra material to review. After the session, he emailed follow-up material. My son plans to work with Isaac again.
Isaac helped my daughter with some very difficult Honors Algebra II material. He set a good pace and allowed the problem areas to unfold, and then provided lead-in questions and examples to reinforce the new learning. I would recommend!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
