Tutoring to the "Level-Ten Potential"! I am a medical student completing my last year of Medical School. I am an advocate of education. Throughout the last decade, education has politically been falling down the list of priorities, due to financial constraints, as well as other reasons that have been letting our children's education fall by the wayside. I have been a tutor throughout my life at various levels of education, in multiple areas of learning.
I have a Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. In addition I received my bachelor's degree in Biology. I specialize in Science and Math subjects, as well as other areas for elementary, middle, and high school students. Moreover, I can also tutor in areas of Biostatistics software such as SPSS and SAS. I can tutor in several areas, such as, Biology, Math Chemistry, as well as Study skills. After years of education at the graduate and undergraduate levels have taught me a lot of important lessons for success.
All tutoring sessions will include study methods unique to that discipline, if desired. I have worked as tutor paid and unpaid for several years. Also, I have worked as a substitute teacher in elementary and middle school, as well as a graduate assistant to college students.
Please allow me to help elevate your child to their "Level-Ten Potential". Please contact me if you are interested in a tutor that cares about your child's success as much as you do.

I had my first tutoring session with Debra on last week; and I felt my first session was very productive. I had sent some items for discussion prior to our session and Debra had put together a PowerPoint presentation to show examples of some of the homework items I was having problems with. Debra kept her explanation in pretty "simple" terms and broke down the problems so that I could understand what the homework problem was asking me to do in order to come up with my solution.
After my session, I really felt a little less stressed about grasping the information. Debra assured me that being stressed has a tenacity to add more to the problem than there is. Essentially, I was making it much harder than it was. I appreciate the patience she displayed with walking me through the assigned problems, and helping me to break the problem down so that I could find the solution.
I would highly recommend her and would seek her services for future tutoring sessions.
As soon as I emailed Debra I received a response. We talked and scheduled an appointment in a few hours. She was prepared and walked me through the program and made sure I understood why I was doing what I did. She was very knowledgeable of database software and professionally relayed that information to me. Thanks Debra, you took a lot of stress off my back.
As a second career pre-nursing student, I was mortified when I saw my Chemistry grade! I saw Debra's profile and thought that with her medical background she would be a great tutor for me. I was right! Debra not only stopped to listen to my goals, but she also shared her own inspirational success stories as a professor in the sciences and a senior medical student. Because she took the time to understand my learning style and learning goals she was able to put me back on the path to achieving my dreams. Her explanations, study helps, and motivational tutoring style helped me understand how to learn chemistry and biology! Debra has a sincere love for the sciences and for helping people. She is going to be a great doctor, she is already an outstanding tutor.
She is patient and goes above and beyond to help you. She provides additional material to class. She is willing to help you as long as you do your part. I highly recommend her. She is the best!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Students will receive personalized approaches to understanding algebra 2 and opportunities for creative and research-based learning techniques.
As a medical student, I have developed a technique for understanding anatomy and can work with students to develop a plan that will ensure their success.
I am currently a medical student, I have taken several courses in Biochemistry. I supplement Biochemistry course-material with illustrative reference material to bring in more clarity when teaching complex concepts.
During high school I volunteered as a tutor at a local elementary school after-school program for 4 years. During college, I worked as teacher in an Elementary After School program for 2 years. I also worked as a substitute teacher for a year after graduating from college.
I've taken several upper-division Genetics courses. As a fourth year medical student, I am continuing to keep my knowledge in this area up-to-date. Genetics is typically considered a challenging course, however with the right tutor and research based techniques for learning I can ensure an understanding of the various topics.
Currently, I am a fourth year medical student about to embark on Residency. I have taken the MCAT as well as other required board exams to complete my medical degree. I am aware of all the study guides and programs available. However, no amount of programs or lectures compare to one-on-one tutoring from someone that has taken the exam and successfully been accepted to medical school.
I can also offer assistance on applications and school choices.
I have worked as an Epidemiologist for several years working with several different databases, such as Access, Excel, SPSS, and SAS. I have developed data management tools and surveys to collect data using Access. I also worked with an organization whose data was housed in Access-based system for 2 years.
