My name is Shannon - I have 14 years of both military and civilian bedside nursing experience in Medical & Surgical, Emergency Nursing, and more recently Primary Care/Family Practice as Doctorally-prepared Family Nurse Practitioner. I love tutoring as it provides me with the opportunity to customize material to a student's individual style in a fun & relatable way. I actively maintain multiple professional certifications, and resuscitative medicine certifications, which have allowed me to develop a good understanding of testing psychology and formal exam structure. I stay current by periodically doing Kaplan, UWorld, Saunders, Fitzgerald, Sarah Michelle test prep questions and CE's, which help me with teaching test tips/tricks. I have mentored, precepted, and taught many nursing students in both undergraduate and graduate programs successfully, with a fun, humorous, relatable, and respectful attitude. I only tutor a small amount of students at a time, which helps me prep well for sessions and be available.
