About David

As someone who loves science, technology, engineering, and math, I want to help others find the same beauty in these subjects that I see. As a tutor, my goal is to help you understand the concepts rather than memorize heuristics that can help you solve specific problems. I believe that this method will provide a full appreciation of the subject matter and also stick with you much longer!

I'm a recent college graduate from Yale University and I majored in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. I currently work at the National Institute of Health as a researcher studying an immunotherapy approach against HIV.

I'm generally available.

AP Calculus - Scored 5 on the AB AP Calculus exam.
Took Multivariate Calculus during my freshman year.

Received my B.S. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University. Took chemistry I + II, Biochemistry I + II, Physical Chemistry, and Physics I + II and their respective laboratory courses. I have an excellent grasp of these subjects and had helped fellow students understand their coursework during my time at Yale.

I self-studied for the exam and scored in the 100th percentile with a score of 524 on the July, 2016 MCAT.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Biochemistry

B.S. Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics from Yale '16

Chemistry

I have earned a BS in Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics from Yale. I also have experience in general chemistry and physical chemistry coursework.

MCAT

I received a B.S. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University. My GPA was a 3.86 and I graduated cum laude and with honors. I took my MCAT in July, 2016 and received a 524 which put me in the 100th percentile for that exam. I understand the subjects that the MCAT focuses on and, while self-studying, I found ways to simplify the concepts and focus on what is important rather than all of the minutia. I've helped fellow students learn organic chemistry, general chemistry, biochemistry, and physics during my undergraduate years and they have all improved in their understanding of the subject matter and their test-taking abilities.
