Ambassador University (English)
Reading University (UK) (Master's)
I have always been inspired by people learning to communicate in a foreign language, because it opens so many doors to other worlds. Growing up in South Africa, I took Afrikaans, Hebrew and a bit of French and loved the experience. I then studied English and German and got my Master's in teaching English as a second language.
I have been teaching ESOL now for 23 years. The most rewarding part of it is helping students reach their potential by improving their grades and test scores and at the same time helping them to discover the joy of communicating in English. Once you discover the fun in the language and the power it gives you to express yourself, there is no stopping the learning process.
I got my BA and majored in English in the USA and then went on to get my Master's in English as a Foreign or Second Language at the University of Reading in England. I have taught both adults and children in ESOL at all levels for the last 23 years. One of my priorities is to make sure the student is progressing at his/her own pace. I provide periodic assessment and progress reports to ensure success.
I am available from 9.30am - 8.30pm in the week and at weekends.
My base rate is $60.00 an hour for in-person lessons. This a special starting offer for the fall.
I also have lesson packages at a discount.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
