About Gerard

I have an extensive background in writing, editing, and publishing. My experience includes a career in human resources and policy writing, proprietor of a rare book shop, and managing editor at a small press. I have lectured on historical subjects including Thomas Jefferson's library and book acquisition habits; and the early biographers of George Washington. I teach an adult education course on Rare Books and Collecting. I am the author of two books and maintain a literary blog.

I can help you improve your literary appreciation skills, reading comprehension skills, writing technique (including essays, short stories, poetry, articles, etc.), history appreciation, and improve your note taking and test preparation.

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
