High Point University (Psychology)
Loyola University Maryland (Master's)
I offer tutoring services in psychology, sociology, English, and research methods (SPSS).
My teaching experience dates back to when I was in high school. During my high school years, I was a ski instructor, and I learned patience when teaching. I also worked as a piano teacher, when I further honed my skills for presenting information in a way that is easy to understand. During graduate school I was a guest lecturer for Lifespan Development. During this time I realized my love of teaching.
I am able to work with college and graduate-level students. When working with these students I specialize in teaching psychology, sociology, and research methods. I present information in a way that is easy to understand and provide tips for studying these subject matters. I am also able to work with elementary and middle school aged children. When working with these students I can provide assistance with English, and math. I am also able to work with children and adults who may have learning disabilities, or problems with executive functioning.
I hold myself to a high standard, and because of this I often ask for feedback. My goal is for the tutoring relationship to be collaborative in nature. I try to be flexible, but I do have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If for any reason you need to cancel a session, I will offer a makeup session. At this time I am only able to work with students in their home, online, or in a public library.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your academic studies. I offer tutoring services in psychology, sociology, English, and research methods (SPSS).
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
