Peter is absolutely amazing!
Prior to our first lesson, he asked me what I am hoping to learn and what my learning style is. When he asked me those questions, I knew the lesson was going to be fruitful.
He came to the lesson with an outline of what we were to accomplish and a notes section. Not only did we cover everything on the lesson plan, but we had time to talk about additional topics and plans for future lesson plans.
Not only is Peter EXTREMELY knowledgeable about video editing, because he is a teacher, he knows how to communicate his knowledge as well.
Thrilled to have met Peter and looking forward to future lessons!
This is my first experience, and I hope the other tutors are half as professional as Peter I. I was nervous about hiring a tutor and not sure what I would get. I was so relieved to meet Peter. He is as professional as they come. Down to earth and very patient. I am a slow learner and he made me feel so at ease and when he left, I have the feeling I can really learn and can't wait till me next lesson. I am really looking forward to learning more. Peter, Thank you.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have personally studied and taught the principles of design in both my computer graphics and in my photography classes. I approach understanding art theory through measurable and historical methods. Through academic research I investigate and discover the ways in which these principles were employed throughout various art movements as well as in the modern and commercial art movements today.
I am certified through the Maryland State Department of Education to teach Art from Kindergarten to 12th grade. I also have a Masters of Arts in Leadership in Teaching from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland. In college my major was in digital arts with an emphasis in animation. Prior to my training in animation I received extensive training in drawing for realism from my instructor through the methods developed by Betty Edwards (Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain). My portfolio for the visual arts program I was accepted into in college was mostly comprised of drawings that demonstrated a solid foundation in 1, 2, and 3 point perspective, proportion, human anatomy and physiology, and shading.
