I am a recent graduate of Mount St. Mary's University with a degree in Elementary Education, certification in Special Education and Elementary education grades K-8.
I am currently teaching in a long term position in a local public elementary school. Additionally, I received a minor degree in History and I am strong in Social studies, history, biology, earth sciences, reading and writing intervention and elementary math intervention. I have experience working with students on the spectrum and students with reading disabilities.
My teaching philosophy is consists of a holistic approach to mastery with meaningful rigor. I believe that meeting the student needs while maintaining expectations of rigor and believing in the student's ability to succeed are critical components of achievement.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
