Princeton University (Molecular Biology)
My top-notch academic credentials and my real-world professional management experience set me apart to develop top students - not only do I know the subject material, but I am experienced in tailoring my work to the individual needs of an employee or client for maximum development.
My academic career includes degrees from Choate Rosemary Hall and Princeton (B.A., Molecular Biology), two peer-reviewed papers in molecular biology, and a senior thesis.
I was also an editor of the weekly student newspaper and an award-winning student athlete, earning several New England medals, a track and field New England Championship, and 12 varsity letters, so I understand the importance and challenges of striving for excellence in both academics and extracurriculars. I don't think they need to conflict - on the contrary, my best academic terms were always my best extracurricular terms, too!
My professional career has been all about managing both processes/information and people! I've managed the hourly workers and operational processes of a major Midwestern manufacturing plant, and now I manage the IT, analytical, and client-relations of healthcare products for top pharmaceutical manufacturers.
The key to accomplishing all of these feats has been understanding the needs and leveraging the strengths of my clients and employees, and that is how I ensure my students become experts in the subject matter we study together.
Please know that I also have the following credentials: an 760 SAT Math; 5 on AP BC Calculus Exam; published quantitative research in peer-reviewed journals; professional data analyst; Princeton Molecular Biology graduate; and a Winner of Choate Rosemary Hall Geometry Prize. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
