In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1 is probably one of the most difficult areas of math for some middle school and high school students aside from Geometry. Algebra 1 essentially covers foiling, defining lines on a graph, proportions, and has a splash of your basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)added to it as well. With me as a tutor, I will help break down these seemingly impossible tasks to a better level of understanding so that you may have that confidence that you are lacking in that subject.

As the eldest child between my brother and I, I had to teach him the basics: adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. I taught him his times tables and how to use basic counting/grouping principles as well
