Hi, I'm Marco. Math has been the main focus of my studies for quite some time now. Starting in high school I began taking all the advanced math classes I could. I earned the highest possible math scores on all of my AP tests and my SAT. Hi, I'm Marco. Math has been the main focus of my studies for quite some time now. Starting in high school I began taking all the advanced math classes I could. I earned the highest possible math scores on all of my AP tests and my SAT. In college I majored in math and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics from the University of Chicago, where I was able to both learn new math concepts and expand my understanding of others. I'm confident I have the requisite math background in the subjects I tutor to help you succeed.

My experience with tutoring started in high school where I helped to tutor middle school students as well as help other high school students in classes that I had already taken. After participating in some larger teaching events as well as working with some students one-on-one on a weekly basis, I realized I preferred the personalized approach. Once I started college, I continued to tutor high school students when I had time in my schedule. I've focused most of my tutoring on a range of high school Math subjects, particularly algebra and calculus, but also geometry, calculus and statistics, as well as adapting the classroom versions of those subjects into the versions of them that are tested on the SAT. I've always enjoyed the element of tutoring where I get to look back on what I've learned in a different way as well as helping someone else understand and appreciate a subject I love in a way they couldn't before.

I'm passionate both about the subjects I tutor and about helping others succeed. I believe in individualizing lessons and approaches to find the best methods for each student. I find with math that many schools teach it in a one size fits all manner that doesn't work for all students, but by working with students in a one-on-one manner we can find a better approach to help you, and maybe even enjoy math more along the way. For the best tutoring experience, my method is to communicate with a prospective student in advance not just about the things they need help with, but also how they like to learn and about what subjects they've enjoyed and succeeded with before, even outside of mathematics, so I can prepare and tailor a way to teach in a way that works for them.

Please contact me to answer any questions you have, find out more, or set up a lesson. Online sessions are easier for me, but I'm open to meeting at local libraries if necessary.
