Hello all, my name is Marissa C. and I live in Baltimore, Maryland. I am an animal lover and Mom to 3 dogs. I also have a 16-year-old daughter that I have taught and tutored for most of her life, I love all things Disney and consider Disney World my happy place. In my free time I like to craft and cook. I love to read crime novels and enjoy funny movies. I enjoy art and strolling around galleries and museums. An interesting fact about me is I have a secret dinosaur obsession.

I have taught online ESL/ESOL for over 2 years. I have mostly taught Chinese students ages 3 to 17. I am a teacher of all ages and love engaging with my students. Although serious learning goes on in my classroom, I do my best to keep it lighthearted in order to engage my students. I focus on getting to know my students and finding the things we have in common to help foster a successful learning environment.

In my other capacity I am a paralegal. I am responsible for my law firm’s intern program in which college students have the opportunity to work at the firm all while learning the legal system. I have personally developed the training course and curriculum. I teach the basics of the legal system, criminal law civil law, and the intricacies of case law. I am responsible for teaching each lesson and working with our interns to help them in their legal studies.

Learning new things can be challenging at times and we all have areas that we can improve on. My classroom is a safe place for all and I take pride in my ability to walk my students through difficulties. My favorite part about tutoring online is meeting people from different places and all walks of life. I want all my students to leave with the knowledge and confidence to face anything. I hope to be a positive influence in my student’s academic journey.
