I am an undergraduate at Johns Hopkins University studying biomedical engineering and applied mathematics. I tutored students throughout high school, some of whom were able to attain A's in classes such as AP Chemistry, AP Calc BC, and AP Physics, among various other mathematically rigorous courses. Students whom I have tutored now attend notable universities across the country, from Harvard to Berkeley. I am proficient in many different fields of high school and undergraduate math such as calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, and probability/ statistics. I am also proficient in general and organic chemistry at the undergrad level. I approach tutoring from a conceptual/ theoretical perspective so that students are better able to cross-apply what I teach them to other problems they encounter in different courses of study.

I have taken classes in Calculus (levels 1 through 3), differential equations, and linear algebra during high school and undergraduate studies, passing all with an A- or higher. I have received much praise from my teachers and professors for my deep content knowledge and my ability to share that knowledge with others in an effective and thorough manner.

I received A's in both general and organic chemistry and have always had a passion for the chemical and biological sciences. Being a biomedical engineering major, I am able to discuss concepts in organic chemistry from both a practical and conceptual standpoint, allowing you the student to turn a subject often characterized by rote memorization into one of sensible logic and conceptual precision.

I have 5 years of debate experience, so the formulation of arguments and their realization in written form is something I am quite familiar with. Whether it be college essays, argumentative expositions, or even creative writing endeavors, I am able to proofread and provide advice regarding the precision and style of your writing.

Approved Subjects

Homeschool

Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I have tutored algebra in some capacity over the past 4 years and stayed current on the subject since high school.
Calculus,

Calculus

I have tutored calculus 1 and 2 in some capacity for the past 5 years and have taken and passed (with an A) calculus 1, 2, and 3. I am proficient in tutoring basically any subject in undergraduate single and multivariable calculus as well as test prep.
Geometry

Geometry

I took elementary euclidean geometry in high school and have about 4 years of tutoring experience in the subject. I worked in my school's math tutoring center helping many geometry students master concepts, and develop mathematical reasoning skills, and learn to solve problems from a theoretical perspective.

Differential Equations,

Differential Equations

I took differential equations last year and passed the course with an A. As a biomedical engineering major, differential equations are something that I constantly deal with, thus allowing me to stay current on topics as well as bring in both theoretical and practical perspectives. During my time learning the material, I made sure to be active on the class forum, answering questions and assisting students with difficult topics as much as possible. This gave me new perspectives into nuances the subject comes with and earned me high praise from my professor.

I worked in my school's math tutoring center helping many geometry students master concepts, and develop mathematical reasoning skills, and learn to solve problems from a theoretical perspective.
Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra

I took an advanced theoretical linear algebra course as a freshman in college and passed with an A. During my time taking the course, I frequently assisted classmates through difficult problems, allowing me to see where common pitfalls are regarding both theoretical and computational elements of the course. This past semester, I tutored a few more students in traditional linear algebra courses, bringing a theoretical perspective to many concepts they struggled with. This, in turn, allowed them to see how the theory informs their computations, and therefore not only strengthened their ability to solve problems but also deepened their understanding of a subject that strongly undergirds modern mathematics.

Knowledgeable and helpful tutor

My daughter needed help with AP calc homework, and Nick was very accommodating in terms of finding time for her, and my daughter feels the session was very helpful.

Accommodating & Calming Tutor

He taught me more of the end stuff of organic chemistry 2 with a little bit of the beginning of biochemistry. What I enjoyed about Nick tutoring style was that he was very accommodating, not intimidating, and was attentive to the questions I asked and then some more. Would recommend especially his quality of tutoring at his rates.
