I am an artist whose interests revolve around the possibilities that music can bring not only to myself as a violinist but also to the public. My passion to collaborate with others has pushed me into the immense world of chamber music and has helped me see music making as a way of reaching out to those who need it the most. Originally from Bulgaria, I have had the opportunity to travel across Europe and America and have become a part of a global musical community that does not only bring music to life in the concert halls, but it also shows compassion and support to the ones that are unable to enjoy it in such settings. As a result of my involvement in social outreach, I was recently able to participate in a tour to Mexico, where my violin touched many people with different backgrounds in places not as privileged as one might think. I was able to bring different cultures together and to unify the listeners by making music in places that one would least expect, such as orphanages, prisons, and hospitals. What really inspires me to get involved in such kinds of projects, is my current teacher Midori Goto at the Peabody Conservatory of Music. As I have learned that music making is way more fun and enjoyable when it is shared with others, I have become a regular participant in various summer festivals, such as Heifetz Institute of Music, Madeline Chamber Music and Weimar, where I broaden my musical and collaborative experience not only as a single performer but also as a member of different chamber and orchestral ensembles. At a very young age, my artistic talent was recognized while participating in various international violin competitions, such as the “Sofia Young Virtuosos” and “Open Call”. Later, I appeared as a soloist with the “Sofia Soloists” Chamber Orchestra, performing on a violin loaned to me by the “Bulgarian National Endowment Fund”. After graduating from Idyllwild Arts Academy, I chose to continue my music education at the Peabody Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Midori Goto and Judith Ingo

Ear Training,

Ear Training

I have twelve years of experience in high school and four more years in college. As a musician, ear training is a huge part of my musical education in Europe and later in the US. Many years of dictations, sight-singing and solfege, as well as composition, have helped me understand and hear music in a more professional way.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Shes amazing. Even online she could still tell if I played the song wrong or my violin is not in tune, she is also really flexible, also she never gives up on her students. Even when she has something to do like run to somewhere she still tells me to come to the next class 10 minutes early so i can finish the time of the last class.

Knowledgeable and patient

Liliya is a great tutor, great energy, great personality, and very patient, since I'm a beginner that mean a lot to me. Looking forward to our next session. The last tutor I had I was not happy and I just gave up on learning to play the violin. So it a new year and I decided to give it another shot. I went through the list of tutors read their profile as well as messaging them. Liliya respond was the best.
