I've known that I wanted to be a teacher since I was in third grade, when my wonderful teacher saw my struggles in math and took time to help me catch up and truly understand math. I majored in Spanish and Elementary Education; I taught third grade for 6 years before going into Special Education. My Special Education experience ranges from mild-to-moderate disabilities to severely and profoundly handicapped students. I have taught as young as a 4-year-old Autism Pre-K classroom, up to 5th grade. My last years teaching were spent as an Assistive Technology Resource Teacher, where I worked to support students who needed additional supports to access the general education curriculum.
In 2018, I moved to Baltimore, and decided to bring my career home, and began homeschooling my own children. I have now taught second, third, and fourth grade at home. Having to spend time to carefully research resources and customize my children's education gives me a wealth of resources that can also support the students that I tutor. My experience in Special Education and, specifically, Assistive Technology, has helped me build a very full toolbox of strategies and interventions that can be used to support all students to help make learning fun and accessible. I look forward to meeting your student to help them implement tools and strategies to continue to grow their skills.

I believe in using a variety of methods and tools to go back and work through those gaps in order to shore up the foundation of the students' knowledge, so that higher math tasks will make sense as they progress through grade levels.
Elementary Science has the potential to be so much fun, but, too often, students get bogged down in vocabulary and diagrams that are difficult to underst
