About Rieko

As a soloist and chamber musician, I have performed across the U.S. and in Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, England, and Japan. In the U.S, I have performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall in NYC, the New World Center in Miami, and Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco. I have also received many awards, including the 2012 YoungArts Fellowship, 2012 Avanti Award, 1st prize in the 2009 Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition, and many more. I have performed as a soloist with the California Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, the Ashdod Symphony Orchestra, El Camino Youth Symphony, and San Domenico Orchestra.

I have been teaching piano students for four years and love working with students of all ages and levels. I recently completed two semesters of Piano Pedagogy courses to learn advanced piano teaching skills covering all areas of technique and musicality. It is incredibly rewarding for me to see my students enjoy the music we create together, and to watch them grow week by week.

Piano - Studying several schools of technique to gain facility at the keyboard; musical guidance to develop a sensitive ear and joy for playing; music theory to be able to analyze pieces of music and understand them on a deeper level.

I hope that I will have the opportunity to work with you and share my passion for music! Please contact me with any questions or clarification.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
