About Jonathan

I have been a working professional in the audio visual field for over 22 years. My professional journey in this creative realm began immediately after high school. While taking Mass Communication classes at Coppin State college, I started videotaping events, weddings and producing local commercials as a way of generating income. After completing my course of Mass Communications and as a result of the popularity of my work, I soon began filming the popular nationwide "Tuesday Night Boxing Fights" for USA network during the mid 1990's.

In 1998 I attended Tesst Technical College to study Electronic, Microcomputer, Robotic and Automated System Technologies, in an effort to further my knowledge of the technical make up of the electronic equipment that I was using to produce audio and video signals. Acquiring such knowledge has allowed me to design, build, trouble shoot and repair all electronic elements that are involved in audio video production.

Since mid 1998, I have been contracted by the City Of Baltimore for the Mayor's Office of Cable and Communications. My responsibilities began with videotaping the Mayor's press conferences and following the Mayor of Baltimore for all public news worthy events. Due to my technical background, I advanced to being a team member that was involved with establishing the first broadcast master control center in City Hall. This master control center now allows for the live television broadcast of all public meetings in City Hall. I now function as the chief broadcast engineer and technical director for all of Baltimore City's Board of Estimates, Planning and Chap Commissions and Liquor Board meetings.

When I teach video production, I teach in a holistic manner. I will not just cover surface theories but hands on real world productions. I also teach the most important component of all and that is the technical make up of the equipment and how to trouble shoot and select the appropriate hardware and software that will allow you to practice your exercise in the most efficient manner.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
