Richard Stockton College of New Jersey (Applied Physics)
University of Maryland, Baltimore County (Enrolled)
I'm a recent graduate of the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey (May 2013). I've since moved to the Baltimore area following my acceptance to the Graduate Atmospheric Physics Program at UMBC. I am an astute undergraduate physicist in areas such as: Classical Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Statistical Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics, and Special Relativity. With all of this comes a deal of math, and I am more than capable concerning Single and Multivariate Calculus, Linear Algebra, as well as standard and some advanced mathematical methods involved with undergraduate physics.
I've studied many aspects of computational science at the graduate level as well. My undergraduate research involved the computational analysis of time-evolving temperature fields and kindled in me an understanding of UNIX operating systems as well as an understanding of basic shell, C, intermediate to advanced Python and Java programming languages.
I aspire to be an educator, so I take tutoring somewhat seriously. I've been tutoring physics throughout my entire undergraduate career, so I know the pitfalls that first and second year students fall prey to concerning theory as well as mathematics. This was my son's first session with Roy and it went great. My high school son found Roy very helpful and patient and it was obvious how much Roy cares. I look forward to continue working with Roy on a weekly basis. I am lucky to have found Roy on my first try with WyzAnt.
I'm a student that has to take college algebra again and I forgot a lot about that type of math. Roy really is helping refresh my memory. I'm mean he's patient and very clear on what he is tutoring you. I feel like he's going to make my semester so much easier.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I've used Differential Equations as well as their ugly big sisters(Partial Differential Equations) in an effort to solve problems in Electricity and Magnetism, Quantum Mechanics, and Optical Electromagnetism courses. I've taken (and passed) undergraduate level courses on the topic. I have tutored Differential Equations topics in the past.
Aced graduate level computation python course at Richard Stockton University in NJ in 2012/2013. I have since been using python et al. for various computational objectives. I have taught undergraduate classes in computational science using python.
