Hi,
Coming from three generations of university and high school professors and teaches, learning and teaching have been instilled into my bones. It was only natural for me, during my undergraduate studies at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, to start a tutoring service. The unique aspect both then and now is in my guarantee of positive, satisfactory, and concrete results, or the student/client pays no fee. Initially we agree upon a set of realistic, achievable, and firm personal and academic goals which may rarely in difficult and special instances require more than this one evaluation session.

Learning-thinking, though universal, is an extremely personal process, it differs greatly from knowledge which is more a part of our shared human experience. We all share the knowledge that 2+2=4, but how one develops the mental tools and is then arrives on their own at this fact is very singular in nature. My talents and success in teaching lie in the ability to illicit and nurture an individual's strengths and curiosity, while strengthening and encouraging them in areas where they may fall short. All of this is carried out in a lively, engaging, and understanding atmosphere. Put in another manner, it is good and can be great fun for a person to amass a lot of knowledge, however it is life changing when one discovers how he or she learns-thinks. We all think and therefore learn differently, a good teacher never looses sight of this fact.

My B.S. was earned in Biology and Chemistry at Case Western Reserve University, with a minor in economics. The areas of my tutoring include: the biological, chemical, and health sciences, mathematics, economics, history, social science, and both general and technical writing.
Professionally I have worked on the supervisory and managerial level in the clinical trials and pharmaceutical fields. I have always enjoyed developing novel yet sound ways of simplifying the complex, and when this cannot be done, understanding the complex in a simple manner. I am well read, traveled extensively, and built a sail boat and sailed it around the world. My hobbies include sailing, rock climbing (free solo), music (many genres), art, and baseball.
I find it extremely fulfilling working with the learning disabled; at the same time I never tire soaring to the heights with the mentally gifted and helping everyone learn how they can develop a sound mind.
