If you aspire to study the fine arts, applied arts, craft, architecture or design, you will benefit from my years of working in many different art media. I am a "higher ed insider", having served for four years as the Executive Assistant to the Dean and VP of Admission at one of the most prestigious art schools in the USA. Therefore, I can be of great help in preparing a portfolio that will enable you to be accepted to the art college of your choice, improve your chances for scholarships, and help you focus on those challenging college application essays, Some of you might like to explore a one-on-one art teacher just for pleasure. I will suggest materials that may be new to you, teach you how to make the most of them, and offer progressively higher levels of exercises to get you on the way to expression and confidence in your work.

My English language skills can help you with a spectrum of goals, from difficult homework assignments to writing a dynamite essay for your college application. For those of you who simply wish to improve your reading and writing skills, I'd be happy to help out. I am particularly experienced with students for whom English is a second langauge, though native English speakers also benefit from my approach, emphasising clarity and detail.

If conversational Hebrew is your goal, I lived in Israel for twenty years and am fluent in Modern Hebrew.

I have a bachelor of fine arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a major in drawing and printmaking and a minor in art history. I specialize in portfolio development and self-expression.

I have a bachelor of fine arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a major in drawing and printmaking and a minor in art history. In the past 20 years, I have taken classes in drawing and painting in oils and have worked on my own in pastels, watercolor and casein. I use my anatomical knowledge to paint the human form and also animals. Sometimes my images are rendered realistically but more often they take on a dream-like quality which may utilize distortions or unusual combinations of subject matter. The interpretation and use of light is also a tool. I subscribe to a number of art magazines and have a specific preference for figurative work, requiring a strong foundation in classical study. I also explore the various painting mediums on the market, from traditional to synthetic. At this time I prefer two "home made" oil paint media composed of sun-bleached linseed oil, turpentine and damar varnish. The proportions determine which medium is "fat" or "lean", the principle in oil classical painting (if using glazing techniques) is "fat over lean". I also paint all prima when feeling confident enough to employ a spontaneous approach.
