Curtis was great he was very helpful and patient. He knew exactly what to review and what my daughter needed to feel comfortable with the material.
I can't say enough good things about Curtis. We are just getting an early start for 10th grade chemistry for the upcoming school year. My daughter got the first lesson today. He explained the topic clearly which is in a way not surprising given the fact that he is an experienced chemistry teacher. He responded promptly to email and was punctual with the schedule. We look forward to more lessons with him this summer.
We cannot say enough positive things about Mr. Curtis H. He responded promptly, answered all inquiries and questions, and provided clear and perfectly-on-target help for my daughter's AP Chemistry subject matter.
He is a patient and extremely well-organized individual, and a "born teacher." My daughter studies hard, but has been frustrated with AP Chemistry and the lack of classroom instruction. She came home from her tutoring session with a big smile. The first words out of her mouth were, "I neeeed him. I'm going to neeeed him again. I understand now!"
Such a relief to find someone who knew the material (and then some), who was willing to spend the time and effort to help her succeed, and who even gave her some additional work just to make sure. Mr. Curtis H. is the kind of instructor you search for; he is a "keeper!"
Update: After the second lesson, she got a 100% on her AP Chemistry test. That speaks volumes. This tutor has done wonders for her understanding of concepts AND her self-confidence.
Curtis has been very helpful and has given my son the confidence he needed to score higher on tests and quizzes. Not only does he help with chemistry, but will figure out hard problems in math and physics as well.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
