I have given student interest inventories to see which way they learn the best and what kind of learner they are. I have students to try to be consistent with the amount of time that they alot for studying and that a certain amount of time should be factored in for each subject area especially the ones that they are having difficulty with. Test Preparation

ISEE

ISEE

I taught a 6 week preparation session for ISEE math portion of the test. First, I let the students know how the test was set up: the parts and how long each part is. I provided the students with 18 words that they needed to make into flashcards to study for the test. Then, I gave them a list of math skills that they need in order to be successful on the ISEE. Finally, I explained to them to answer all questions, pace yourself, process of elimination and guessing. Last and not least the math proportion of the test measures your basic math skills. So it may seem easy at first, but reviewing these skills will help you improve your test scores. Put your calculator away until after you have taken the test because it is prohibited during test.

Knowledgeable and patient

She spoke with Joshua to get an idea of his struggles in school. Great working with her. She is knowledgeable and patient. He was confident speaking to her and letting her know his struggles in school.

Patient, tough, fair

Ms. P. is tutoring my very reluctant pre-teen. The three words I would use to describe her are patient, tough, and fair. She has been persistent in getting my daughter to do her work and accept help with learning. I would recommend her if you are looking for a stable support with a kind heart, and a calm determined style.

"Very patient"

Althea is always prompt. She works very well with my son. Althea holds him accountable by making him think and try solving the problem himself with minimal assistance from her. This is good because he can do better in school if he applied himself and is pushed to do better by his teachers. She has given Trevon handouts to use in solving algebra problems and a multiplication chart for him to practice and learn his multiplications. I am open to any suggestions Althea has to offer to help my son to become a good student and to pass algebra. Thank you Althea.
