About Irina

Hi my future students and parents!

My name is Irina. I am a native Russian and Ukrainian speaker. I have 30 years experience teaching Russian for native and foreign students at elementary, middle and high school. Also I love tutoring in ESOL, elementary Math and Reading.

I taught Russian as a target language at Baltimore International Academy for K-2 students and Friends School of Baltimore. I was teaching ESOL in CCBC and JCC in 2011-2015.

As a Russian tutor, I have students from the top private schools of Baltimore. Two of them are Gold Medalists of Maryland and Virginia's Russian Contest and diplomants of the First World Russian Festival in St. Petersburg, 2011.

My elementary school students do better in school and get high tests results.

As a teacher, I exchanged my experience with groups of teachers and administrators from educational departments of different cities of Turkey.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I became a certified elementary school teacher with the Maryland State of Education in 2012. I am also certified in elementary math by WyzAnt. I look forward to working with your student.

ESL/ESOL

In 2003, I graduated Maryland Bible College with certificate of TESOL teacher. Since that time I am teaching English as a second language for Pre-K and K-students.
All my students enrolled to elementary schools with excellent knowledge and communication skills.
In February 2011 I started to teach ESOL classes for adults in CCBC.

Very Good Tutor

Irina helped me learn more about the correct pronunciation of Russian vocabulary and helped me with expanding my vocabulary. She seems to be a very good tutor that enjoys teaching students the intricacies of the Russian language. I highly recommend her.
