Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Bible Studies

I enjoy reading scriptures from The Bible. My favorite book of The Bible is the Book of Psalms. For three years, I volunteered with my church's children's ministry tutoring 4 - 6 year olds. I currently help individuals and organizations use writing as a tool for Christian ministry.

Elementary (K-6th)

I enjoy working with all youth and have had opportunities to tutor almost every grade level. However, I prefer to work with youth in grades 3 - 6. I enjoy helping children gain confidence in their ability to achieve both academic and personal success.

ESL/ESOL

I have over a decade of experience teaching ABE, Pre-GED, and GED classes to older youth and adults - many of which were foreign born. I enjoy helping all people. I have lots of compassion, patience and a great sense of humor.

GED

I have more than a decade of experience teaching Adult Basic Education (ABE/GED) classes at various community-based organizations in Baltimore City. I enjoy equipping adults with the confidence and skills to excel academically.

Public Speaking

I have over 15 years experience speaking publicly at local and national events. I am extremely passionate about helping others make the world a better place to live, work and play. Most importantly, I know how to inspire others to take action. I can offer provide you with lots of great secrets and tips on how to make your lecture and/or talk more interesting and engaging.

Study Skills

I enjoy helping people, and I have lots of study skills tips and resources to share for students of all ages!
