Hi, I’m Samuel. After graduating high school at 12, I completed my BS in Computer Science Engineering at 17 and received my Master's in CSE from Southern Methodist University with a focus on AI. After graduating with a 4.0, I'm now a PhD student at Hopkins specializing in artificial intelligence (everything from machine learning, neural networks, generative models, etc).

My teaching style stems from the Silicon Valley fellowship I completed when I was 15. The fellowship taught entrepreneurship and software development. They ingrained independence: how to learn and how to teach myself in a world where technology is always advancing. This same mindset is what I aim to teach my students so they can be independent and adaptable.

I worked as a software development engineer in which I used data science and fullstack web development skills. I’ve led AI research for the past 4 years with professors from SMU, Boston University, Harvard, MIT, and Johns Hopkins University. My work has been sponsored by various entities such as the DOD, AFRL, and NIST.

My specialty lies in identifying the best technique to solve a problem and creating autonomous systems. One research project involved modern computer vision for mobile hardware whereby I built an AI to detect nuclear weapons in real-time, compressed the model, and placed it onto an edge device to fly on drones. I made North Texas 25 under 25 for an app I built doing contactless payments at the height of the pandemic.

I have enjoyed learning from a young age, and it brings me joy to share that knowledge with other people. In fact, I started my high school’s first tutoring business when I was 10. I also tutored calculus, data structures and web development at Southern Methodist University.
