Hi! My name is Kaylee. I'm a senior at St. John's College currently pursing a B.A. degree in philosophy and liberal arts. I offer tutoring sessions for English literature, ESL, and writing subjects. I have always loved reading and writing; however, I also understand how difficult language subjects can be, particularly if they are not in your native tongue. Together, these two things have led me to want to help students achieve their academic goals and become more comfortable expressing themselves through language.
I have a range of prior experience tutoring students of many different levels. I have worked closely with individual students in elementary and middle school, and have also held an English teaching assistant position at my college for two years. This has allowed me to improve my skills in lesson-planning and essay evaluation, as well as gain further experience tutoring adult students outside of class when they needed additional assistance with the material.
I understand that academics require patience and encouragement, and believe that one-on-one, personalized instruction is one of the best ways to help anyone reach success. During tutoring sessions, my goal is to create a positive environment where questions are welcomed and learning comes as naturally as possible. This means that I focus on the student, and aim to adapt to their style and level of learning. Whether you are looking to improve your conversational English skills or writing and revising a formal essay, I am confident that I can provide you with any assistance and feedback you may need. Feel free to reach out to me with any additional questions, or to schedule a trial lesson. I look forward to getting to know you, and accompanying you in your learning!
